An El Nino weather system, which produces unseasonal weather conditions in most every area of our hemisphere, is affecting the quality, availability, and costing of a wide range of vegetable items and strawberries.

This system has led to freezing temperatures in normally warmer areas, flooding in some areas, and other weather abnormalities that impact the growing cycle and availability of fresh produce items.

Because of these extreme weather conditions, product availability will remain very tight and market costing will be extremely high. Products involved are subject to day-today evaluation and cost changes. Although too numerous to mention, greatest impact currently is on Western-U.S. grown vegetables and strawberries, but other areas have felt El Nino’s impact which is causing nationwide shortages of certain items.

We will continue to do our best to source the highest quality vegetables and berries available during these adverse growing conditions.  We will take every measure possible to have supplies of every item every day. Unfortunately, there will be product shortages from time to time, especially as the impact of El Nino is felt through the early part of 2016.
